Food and Feed Testing

Determination of drug residues and chemicals in food and feed include antibiotics, pesticides, 3-monochloropropane-1,2-diol (3-MCPD), β-agonists, polychlorinated dibenzo-dioxin (PCD), polycholorinated dibenzo-furan (PCB), and polychlorobiphenyl (PCB). These residues and chemicals are toxic or carcinogenic to human health. Thus, regulations on the accepted limits of these compounds have been imposed by many countries in view of public health and safety.

Metabolic Services

Newborn Screening
The amino acids and acylcarnitine profiles determined through mass spectrometric techniques can be used to screen for 25 various metabolic disorders newborns. Early detection and treatment are crucial to prevent mental retardation, physical disability, and death.

Second-tier Tests
Second-tier tests include quantitation of amino acids and aclycarnitine, and organic acid analysis. This test can be used to identify most of the metabolic disorders (listed above) in patients showing signs or symptoms related to these disorders.

Quality Assurance
We provide drug analysis for the purpose of quantification, identification, and toxicological evaluation. Our instrumentation and methods are designed to provide a high throughput for such analysis with high reliability. Quality Assurance has been increasingly important as more and more cases of adulteration have been found in supplements, herbal preparations, and natural remedies.

Pharmaceutical Analysis
Pharmaceutical Analysis involves the analysis of therapeutic drugs in various matrices including analysis of adulterants in drug preparations and herbal supplements.

Natural Product Characterisation
We offer analysis of unknowns derived from extraction and fractionation of herbal medicines for purposes of identifying structural formula and molecular weights of hundreds of compounds.
