Breakthrough in detection of disorders
PENANG: Universiti Sains Malaysia’s Doping Control Centre (DCC) has made a break-through by being the first in the country to commercially introduce a screening test to detect 25 metabolic disorders in a newborn baby.

 
 
 
     
   
 
 

With a host of specialised analytical technologies in place and a growing number of well-trained staffs, the centre is uniquely positioned to dwell into research areas ranging from small molecules to big molecules. Research projects are crucial in driving forward the centre by branching into new arenas that would be beneficial to our clients and the public. At DCC, we are actively pursuing various research projects in the biotechnology realm, sports dope analysis, and in the metabolics realm.
